I would love to submit this for the Apophysis Weekly Theme Contest this week, "Metal". But, it does not conform to the submission rules regarding post-processing. No blurring or altering of the fractal was done. However, my rendered image seemed a little dull despite my best efforts to adjust the Apophysis settings. I simply "sandwiched" several layers of the original render (in Photoshop) to achieve a better brightness and contrast. The top layer was sandwiched with a different blending mode which brought out some more contrast and some of the silver color on the ball. I am sure that I could eventually generate this purely in Apophysis. Perhaps I should generate a gradient from this image (or some derivative of it) and try to re-render. This would take some experimentation.
